Just want to share that im one of the finalist of Scrap-n-Crop's Project Scrap-Away. This is completely overwhelming. They asked us to send in our favorite LO to them then they will choose 15 finalists to join the contest. And I'm so lucky to be able to get a spot! And were done with the first challenge.... the first challenge was to get an ad inspiration and make a layout based on it. There will be a winner each week and 2 will be eliminated. Whew! I have to admit, this was hard for me... I spent so much time choosing the right ad to draw inspiration from. I was more pressured in finding the ad!!! And to add more pressure, guess who's our judge.... It's Rhonna F. ! Time was ticking away!!! Here's my take on the first challenge...
here's my inspiration...
And my take....A little note: I choose this camera lens ad catalog as my inspiration for my page. The moment I saw this ad I immediately fell inlove with the colors green and dark pink as against the background black(the body of the lens) and white (page background). So what i did for my page was to use shades of green and dark pink. I also used black to give emphasis on my page elements such as the paint around the photo, the black outline of the pattern paper (just like how the cover of the lenses outlined the colors pink and green) and also inking and painting on almost all the elements. I also turned my son's picture into black and white also to mimic the black and white background of the ad. I also love to paint on my pages and love to use chipboard embellishments too!
